Getting started

Connect the app to a Dinatos instance, get an account, and stay signed in.

1. Point the app at your instance

Dinatos has no central server, so the app must know which instance to use. Ask whoever runs it for the address, such as https://dinatos.example.com.

  1. Open the app. On the login screen, enter the address in Server URL.

  2. Register or log in.

The address is saved on your device. Change it later in Settings. In a browser opened directly on the instance, no Server URL is needed.

If the instance uses a self-signed certificate, the app refuses to connect. Turn on Allow self-signed certificates in Settings (Android and Linux apps only). This skips certificate checks for that server, so use it only on a network you control.

2. Get an account

Either:

  • ask the operator for an email and password, or

  • tap Register on the login screen.

The first account created on a new instance becomes its administrator. If the operator disabled registration, the Register link is hidden and an administrator must create your account.

3. Take the first-run tour

On first sign-in, a short tour dims the screen except for the button to press next. It walks you through choosing units, saving a routine and logging a workout. You press the real buttons.

  • Skip step and Skip tour are always available.

  • It is offered once per account. Replay it with Settings -> Take the tour again.

Staying signed in

A login lasts 30 days. After that, or after you log out, the app returns to the login screen.

Log out with the icon in the app bar. This ends that login on the server. Other devices stay signed in.
