Concepts¶
The terms Dinatos uses. Dinatos is a self-hosted workout tracker: it runs on a server (an “instance”) that someone, maybe you, operates.
Term |
Meaning |
Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
Exercise |
One movement, such as “Romanian deadlift”. Most have a tutorial: picture, instructions, target muscles, equipment. |
Everyone on the instance |
Built-in exercise |
Ships with Dinatos. Cannot be renamed, edited or deleted. |
Everyone |
Custom exercise |
One you add. You can edit or delete it. |
Everyone |
Routine |
A reusable plan: exercises with target sets, reps and weight (“Leg day”). |
Only you |
Activity |
A workout you actually did: exercises with the sets, reps and weight you performed. |
Only you |
Planned workout |
A routine, or a free-form session, scheduled for a future date. It becomes an activity only when you do it. |
Only you |
Measurement |
A dated body entry (weight, body composition, tape measurements). Lives in the Body tab. |
Only you |
Instance |
One Dinatos server. The app connects to one at a time. |
n/a |
Everything except exercises belongs to one account. On an instance with several accounts, nobody sees anyone else’s routines, activities or measurements.
The Settings tab holds your account options. It is where you log out, change the server, import and export data, and manage API keys.
See Using the app for how to use each of these.
